The Olympics....and the DVR

Man, I love the DVR we have with our Dishnet. It's awesome!!!! We are DVRing the Olympics and it allows us to fast forward all of the stuff we don't want to see and we get right down to the nitty gritty of what we really want to watch.

Tonight we watched the swimming relays! I won't spoil it for anyone, but let me tell you it was AWESOME!!

I wonder if anyone else out there is a sappy person like me. Each time I see one of our folks win and stand on the winner's stand to receive their medals, when the National Anthem begins, I cry. Not once, but every time. I love America.

Dan went to China this summer and he has stories that are wonderful and heartbreaking about the people of China. They are such sweet, sweet people....at least those that he dealt with. But, it really made me happy to have him safely home where we are free.

It's fun though having him watch the Olympics and showing us all of the places he's been, in HD on our TV! LOL! He pauses the TV and tells us a story to go along with whatever scene is on the screen....so, if we get finished watching the Olympics before it's actually over with, it'll be a miracle!!

Anyways, just more ramblings for tonight! I'm out!

I cried at every medal ceremony I watched! I've become quite the patriot here of late! Ever since I orchestrated a Flag Retirement Ceremony for our Cub Scout Pack-- I was blubbering during different speeches at RNC too. I love the DVR I didn't have to listen to all the rhetoric!
Oh and the olympics, they tell you all these heartbreaking stories about hte athletes! It' a great thing to watch!
